While we're a friendly group we do run a closed repeater system for a couple of reasons. First, there are just too many hams in the Los Angles basin to run a high level, open 2 meter repeater. Secondly, the repeaters are used primarily by Huntington Beach RACES and CERT to support the city emgerency operations. Any active member of Huntington Beach RACES or Huntington Beach CERT may use either the Santiago Peak 145.140 (P/L 110.9) repeater or the Huntington Beach City repeater on 145.140 (P/L 127.3).

The phone patch on the Santiago Peak 145.140 repeater is also open to both HB RACES and CERT active members. The calling area is limited to some Southern Califorina Area Codes. Please contact me for the password for the phone patch instructions and command sheet.

Additionally IRLP access is available to any active member of HB RACES or CERT. See the IRLP operating instructions before attempting to use IRLP. Please contact me for the password to this page.

While the repeaters are open to HB RACES and CERT neither organization financially supports the repeaters. That is up to the individual members of HB RACES and CERT. Please see the support page to make a donation. It costs thousands of dollars a year to operate the repeaters. Your support is greatly appreciated and needed.

Other repeaters in the WD6AWP repeater system, that is any repeater that is not on 145.140, may be used by special invitation only.
